When you need to haul something tall or oversized, you don’t have to fight with a permanent tonneau. The Switchblade can be completely removed or reinstalled in about 10 minutes using just a wrench and screwdriver. The canister unbolts from the side rails, and the whole unit lifts out as one piece. Once the big job’s done, you can pop it back on just as fast to keep your bed protected again.
Getting to your gear is simple. Just squeeze the pinch grips under the rear plate and the heavy-duty tension spring automatically retracts the cover into the canister. The built-in pull strap lets you close it in one motion, gliding smoothly along the side rails until it locks at the tailgate. The spring assist takes the effort out of opening the cover, making it faster and cleaner than manual retractables.
The deck combines the strength of rigid aluminum panels with a black vinyl top layer bonded over them. That gives you the seamless look of a soft cover with the toughness of a hard one. A large rear seal blocks out water and debris, while the foam seal under the rails and canister helps keep the bed dry. It’s a solid barrier against weather and theft when paired with a locked tailgate.
The canister sits up front with a compact, angled shape that leaves more usable space in the bed and doesn’t block your rear window. The low-profile rails sit just 1/8" above the bed for a flush, finished look that blends in with the truck’s lines. The aerodynamic design helps cut wind drag and can even improve gas mileage when the cover is closed.
Rainwater channels through the side rails into the canister instead of pooling on top. From there, drain tubes route it out through the factory holes in the bed floor. This system keeps your cargo dry and prevents water from freezing inside the rails in cold weather, so the cover always rolls smoothly no matter the season.

I know that it is not your problem but the installation instructions need to be better I learned more from a video on the cover than what the instructions told me .Maybe Pace Edwards should include a link on their instruction page
Finally got time to install my bed cover. Love it, much better than the old back flip that I had on my old truck.

Abigail helped me find the correct tonneau cover that fits an 8 ft. Truck bed. Order came pretty quickly and my wife and I installed it in about 1 1/2 hours. The materials seem to be top notch and look amazing on my truck. Love the low profile.The cover slides back and forth with ease. Great fit! Great Product. Do watch the video's on the installation. I had to remove the spacers at the tale gate ends for clearance.
Opening and closing is smooth after using the supplied rail lubricant.
Thank you eTrailer for your install videos. They are so much better to follow than the instructions that come with the cover. It took me about an hour to install if not a bit longer due to the rain. I installed on my own, which the install woukd be faster if you have someone helping you. The only thing I had an issue with was the weather strip but it was also due to the surface being wet and hard to dry.
Extremely easy to install. Although it says 1 person installation, having two makes it just quicker. Box arrived open (main cardboard flap) but all items were accounted for. Just recommend banding straps prior to shipping. Feels very sturdy and well secured to the bed with no holes. Drain plugs fit as OEM and were simple to install as part of the process. It is installed and was fairly straight forward. Despite others indicating there were no instructions, mine included somewhat clear instructions (could be better). If I had understood that staples through vinyl into aluminum was the core of the design - or a plastic bin was the container, I would certainly have kept looking for something with a more robust design. I expect a couple/three years before replacing, but it solves my immediate need. In this case, ability to see the gooseneck ball from the center high-mount camera that was blocked with the tri-fold cover. Like others have shared, don't expect a dry bed! The omission of a seal from the rear of the rails to the tailgate is confusing - as is the lack of seal length on the head rail to from a seal up front. I'll figure something out for both eventually, but a little underwhelming for the would-be low cost to address in design.

Great service and fine product! Order was delivered in two packages and delivered on time, and all the parts were included (nothing left out as sometimes happens). Tonneau cover was easy to install both by following included directions or by using the demo video on the website. Item fit my 2026 RAM3500 DRW MEGA CAB like OEM and worked properly upon installation.
I have only one slight concern as you will see in provided pictures. To make the cover fully "water tight", you will need to add some type of seal or trim where the bed meets the bed rails, as the provided seal does not extend over this small, open area at the joint.

Very easy one man install. Looks amazing. very flush with bed rails. will slide over 5th Wheel hitch. gives enough room under Canister to put 36 gallon fuel tank.
The bed cover is amazing! I have a low bed rack that doesn’t work with a folding cover, so this retractable cover was the perfect choice. Now I can leave the rack in place and access the bed. Installation was pretty easy, a little confusing just from the directions, but it probably would have been easier if I watched a video. The clamps weren’t intuitive, but made sense once they were in and feel super secure. I’ve only had it in for a few days, but just took the truck camping for a long weekend and used the cover a bunch. I can’t speak to the longevity yet, but so far, so good!
Love the sleekness of the cover. I removed a bak revolver and replaced it with this one. Much easier to hook up the 5th wheel without the giant roll of cover behind the cab. Super easy to open and close. The only issue I had was the front mounting hardware did not fit for some reason. They would not loop together due to the Engel of the truck bed. Not a big deal as I made it work just fine.pretty easy install as I did the entire thing alone as a 58 year old man with a wrecked back!
Great products at great prices
Installation was simple. Although the canister supports seemed very flimsy. Cover worked well for the first few months at some point it became more difficult to retract the cover all the way into the canister. Now at one year the spring seems to have lost all its tension. Tried to contact P/E to find out if there was a way to fix it. No response yet.
Overall this is a nice cover. The installation instructions could be much better, but I am happy with my purchase.
Great fit for an eight foot bed. The Pace Edwards switchblade retractable bed cover was easy to install and adjust. This cover allows you to store items in your bed and still retract without blocking your rear window or folding in on your stuff in the bed. Very low profile cover.

Packaged well, it comes as a complete package, sales person was very knowledgeable and took the time to go over several different styles les until I was able to decide on the stitckback. It will be installed on a 2024 Denali Ultimate, it will be so nice to keep our stuff dry and secure. etrailer was awesome to deal with. My product came in 2 boxes delivered to my door.
